HELLO, INTERNET
at 1am on the 5th, i was standing in front of what used to the world trade center. 6 hours from liftoff, my accounts mostly in order, give or take. my bags about halfway packed…. i’ll only forget what’s important.
spent about 11 hours in jfk international, some of it in a hotel after our airline changed their flight plans and forgot to tell us. at the hotel, it starts to snow. i guess that fits.
we got to JFK earlier at 7:30am, and they told us to go take a nap and come back at 2pm for a new flight at 6pm. spoiler: that flight won’t leave til 8, and by that time it’s raining. we sit a lot.
30 hours later, give or take for time-zone and sleep, and we’re in another continent, and it’s summer. we won’t be home for christmas.
i’ve got 3 weeks of clothes and a lot of paper, and more work than i expected. i’m a little anxious, maybe… a little excited at whatever i’ve gotten myself into.
i’m speaking spanish now, to everyone but you.
